The last column is our arithmetic from the single-site prices, to show the saving. The two- and three-site routes and the four-site route are the long-standing official combinations. The all-sites ticket was added by the 2026 fee resolution and, according to the report of it, is valid for five days from purchase; for the other routes, ask at the counter how long the ticket stays valid before you buy, since a route covers each site once.

Which ticket to buy

  1. Imperial City only, one night in Hue: buy the single 200,000 VND ticket.
  2. Imperial City plus two of the big three tombs: the 420,000 VND route saves 80,000 VND.
  3. Imperial City plus Minh Mang, Tu Duc and Khai Dinh: the 530,000 VND route saves 120,000 VND.
  4. Everything, over several days, including Gia Long and the smaller sites: the 600,000 VND all-sites ticket.
  5. Only Minh Mang and Gia Long, a quiet half day: the 240,000 VND pair.
  6. A short afternoon at Tu Duc and nearby Dong Khanh: the 200,000 VND pair.
Tip

Children under seven are reported to enter free; ages 7 to 12 pay the child price at the Imperial City and the three main tombs, and nothing at the smaller sites. Carry a passport copy for older children who look younger than 13.

Opening hours

Published guides give the Imperial City's daytime hours as 06:30 to 17:30 from April to September and 07:00 to 17:00 from October to March. Another airline guide gives 07:00 to 17:30 all year. We could not read the hours on the Conservation Centre's own site on the day we checked, so treat these as approximate and confirm at your hotel or at the gate. The tombs keep similar daytime hours.

Night opening is event-based. In April 2026 parts of the Imperial City opened free from 20:00 on four nights during the summer festival; in earlier years night openings ran 19:00 to 22:00 with a separate ticket. See the Imperial City page for details and the festival calendar for dates.

Free days and discounts

  • Hue residents pay half price, according to a 2025 report of the fee rules.
  • Vietnamese visitors have had free entry on national days such as 19 August and 2 September.
  • On 26 March 2026, the anniversary of Hue's liberation, entry to the monuments was free.
  • From 2026 the city can cut fees at some sites or routes by up to 50% during promotion campaigns, festivals or events, for domestic and international visitors.
  • School groups registered with the Conservation Centre, and some students, older people and poor households, receive exemptions or reductions under the 2026 rules.

Free days bring crowds. If you are flexible, a free day is a good day to see the city and a bad day to see the Imperial City.

Where to buy

Tickets are sold at each monument's gate and online through the Conservation Centre's e-ticket service at eticket.hueworldheritage.org.vn. Buying at the gate is straightforward outside holiday peaks. Third-party sites that sell "skip the line" Hue tickets charge more than the official price; there is rarely a line long enough to justify it.

Common questions

Questions readers ask

Has the Imperial City ticket price gone up in 2026?

No. The fee resolution for 2026 kept the single-site and two- and three-site route prices. It added an all-sites ticket and widened discounts.

Can I pay by card at the ticket counter?

We could not confirm payment methods at every gate. Carry enough cash in dong for tickets, or buy online through the official e-ticket service before you go.

Do children pay?

Children aged 7 to 12 pay 40,000 VND at the Imperial City and 30,000 VND at the three main tombs; the smaller sites are free for them. Under-sevens are reported to enter free.

Is Thien Mu Pagoda included in the combination tickets?

No. It is a working pagoda outside the ticketed monument system and is free to visit.
